Good evening!
Another fabulous day in Guatemala. We started out the day by giving a special breakfast to the birth mothers of the children at Dori's Promise. Doris' Promise had contacted about 40 birth mothers and invited them to a breakfast. Many of them traveled a long way to get to the city for this event. We brought them gifts and fellowshiped with them, and generally just showed the love of Jesus for them. Towards the end of the morning, the staff of Dori's handed each mother a letter from the adoptive mother and pictures of their children. That is when the tears started! The mothers were so appreciative and so emotional. They stood up and spoke about how difficult it was to give up their children, but how appreciative they were for the American families. It was amazing.
After the breakfast, a few of us went to Sam's Club and bought tons of food for Dori's. We had 5 full carts of food and supplies. It felt so good to be able to do that for them!
We came back, unloaded the food and headed out to an orphanage in Zone 1.
The children were so excited to see us! We brought gifts for them and also a huge cream cake. We sang and played with them for a few hours until we were exhausted!
Now were back at Dori's getting ready to eat dinner. It was a wonderful day.
Tomorrow we're going to the teen girls orphanage in the morning and the Limonada in the afternoon. We will be bringing the widow Ophelia her bed and other supplies. We can't wait! She will be so surprised. Thank you for continuing to pray for us!

  1. Hello! It's so good to read about what you two have been able to do as the hands of God. I know that He'll bless you through this as He is blessing those who you are helping. What a sweet thing for the children to remember you. Wow, to reach out to the birth mothers like that. . . amazing that they came and opened up. We're excited to read what you are doing! Spread the love for all of us! Luv, Craig and Dawn

  2. Hi, It is amazing what God is doing on this trip. That widow is going to be so happy with the bed. That is something about the birth mothers coming and also being able to read letters from the adoptive mom. It is an encouragement to the birth mothers. Thanks for keeping the blog up so we can share in the joy of what God is doing. Love, Aunt Cathy
