We just got back for a day in the ghetto. Ashley rented an empty lot for us to put on the dinner for the 5 families. The wife of one of the gang members, who was shot on Sunday, cooked all of the food for us in her small home. She was so proud to be able to cook for us. Don't worry, we all took Pepto before we ate, and none of us drank the water. We served the 5 families their dinner, sang for them and gave some testimonies. It was such an awesome day. It gave us a glimpse of what Heaven will be like with people of all races. The people were so appreciative of their gifts, they couldn't believe that we would do this for them....especially when they found out we weren't rich by American standards. We just got back to Hannah's Hope to have a pizza party with the special mothers and the children...should be fun! As much as we miss our families back home, it's going to be very hard to leave this place. Guatemala has seeped into our souls. So..for all of you that want to come down here...there will be plenty of opportunity. We have all learned what a joy it is to give....really give. We're all so happy to be going home with practically nothing. There is no better feeling! We've done what we can for now, but there is a lot more to do in the future.
