Our Purpose and Hope....

Mission Trip #5 is happening April 12-19th, 2014. We have 19 people going down to work and minister to the people. We're excited to see what God has planned!

1/29/11- Arrival!

So, we're finally here! We landed safely in Guatemala City at about ten tonight. We mangaed to stravel without any issues, with the possible exception of Ron's attempt to carry on his hammer. But it worked out. We're Thankful to have had such a smooth trip.
Tomorrow, the plan is to go to church in a different ghetto (not the Limonada), where a few of us will do a little Sunday school lesson with the kids. After church, 3 or 4 of us are going to the dump to pour a slab of concrete for the foundation of a house while the rest head over to Antigua for the afternoon. Then we'll come back "home" to Dori's for a pizza party with all the kids. As always, it sounds like a day with more things to do than time to them! We pray that God will weed out anything that was only our plan and use us to do His will.
Well, it's pretty late, and we have a busy day ahead of us. Thank you so much for all your prayer. It is already evident. Please continue to pray for our safety and effectiveness, especially for church in the ghetto and pouring the slab in the dump tomorrow. We'll hopefully post again tomorrow night!

  2. Phillip led the opening this morning in church and said that the team arrived safely except for the disturbance of Ron trying to bring onboard a hammer and box cutter! The congregation smiled and said "Oh Ron!" We hope that your Spanish is good for teaching Sunday School this morning! We pray that the slab pouring goes well. Sounds like you have a very busy day planned. We pray that everything will go very well. We miss all of you. Enjoy the sunshine!

  3. Thanks for the post, my Belle. I love you and miss you. Take care of you, my Joe, my Papa and the rest of my family, your Mom & Dad and Uncle Jeff. I've been praying for all of you for a long time and will keep praying for a long time. I've been praying for the rest of the group, too!! What a blessing you are all and such a good example that we should all follow. My biggest prayer is that someone would come to know and love our Lord Jesus through this group! Love you all! Love, Nanny
